An exhibition performed in two cities: Basel, Switzerland and Reykjavík, Iceland. The concept is Whitewash. The audience becomes participants in the exhibition where the objects come partly from them. At the time of the exhibition, people are invited to donate a small object or clothing needed to be preserved, rejuvenated or transformed which is then the material for a whitewash. The objects will go through a process of neutralization, of transformation where most traces are removed and an unknown object appears. At the Finisage people can collect their donations in the form of an art piece, an unknown object like a canvas waiting to have a new past, a new story, whitewashed.

The idea of whitewash will be investigated from various sides, which will give an opportunity to different creative outbursts. The exhibit is not intended as such to be political even though the concept calls for those references. In this way, an expanded way of expression and translation of the word is opened and interesting to touch upon. The contact surface of the exhibit is the observation of the human being, her biography, and lifespan. How do we define our past and future? How do our actions and past events affect the whole? Where are we situated in the historical context? The exhibition is a collection of drawings, sculptures, installations, performances, sound installation and video that touch directly or indirectly on the concept.

Performance events will be held at the time of the exhibition, mind ignitions and a participation space created.
